Dominik Renneke, dramaturge for participative formats, Centre for Literature – Münster
Luise Bornkessel has already designed and carried out a school project week with a 4th grade class at Burg Hülshoff - Center for Literature three times.
Together with around 25 children each time, she created an animated film based on the children's book Annette, Querkus and the Wild Words by Cornelia Funke within a school week. This included supervising and supporting the children in their artistic stop-motion film projects, including the conception of their own film plot, the creation of characters and backdrops and the production of the stop-motion film. In the process, she taught the children basic artistic techniques (painting, handicrafts), an aesthetic artistic understanding, nature experience and sensitization as well as historical references to the children's book story. In addition, team-building exercises were carried out in which the children worked together as film teams.
The pupils and the Center for Literature team were thrilled by Luise Bornkessel's extraordinary commitment. With her talent for inspiring children and unleashing their creativity, she created an atmosphere in which artistic creation was experienced with joy and curiosity. Her outstanding organizational skills and her instinct for the children's needs made the project weeks a great success. She also impressed with her ability to convey complex content in a creative and accessible way when developing a pad for the hybrid educational platform Droste Pad (for children and adults). Her flexibility, artistic empathy and didactic skills stand out in particular.
